Michigan QB McCarthy enters draft … With a national championship now securely on his resume and with his head coach flirting with the NFL, Michigan QB JJ McCarthy has announced that he will be entering the 2024 draft. However, where he actually fits in the 2024 draft class is still to be determined; for now, it appears McCarthy is in the mix with Washington’s Michael Penix and perhaps Bo Nix of Oregon to be the 4-5-6 QBs taken after the top 3 guys – USC’s Caleb Williams, Drake Maye of North Carolina and LSU’s Jayden Daniels. Whether that is in, or at least near, the top ten or is later in the opening round or even into the second-day is still to be determined. It is also noteworthy that McCarthy was the last big name 3rd year prospect to have announced their intentions for the 2024 draft with the application deadline for underclassmen to apply to the NFL for early entry to next April’s draft coming up on Monday.
