Mayfield measures up as Senior Bowl continues

January 24, 2018

Mayfield measures up as Senior Bowl continues … Because Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield didn’t arrive at this week’s Senior Bowl in Mobile until early Tuesday afternoon, he missed the morning official weigh-in, his measurements were taken after yesterday’s practice sessions. In the end, Mayfield officially measured in at 6-0 3/8 and 216 pounds. While that’s ot real tall for a potential top 10 QB prospect, it is still pretty good news for Mayfield as many people were projecting that he’d actually be closer to 5-11. Mayfield also confirmed that he was late arriving in Mobile because he was at home with his mother who is ill. Mayfield also was reluctant to commit to staying around Mobile to play in Saturday’s actual game because of the situation at home saying only that ‘we’ll see’ with regard to the weekend. There were also a cpuple of other roster changes of note. The South team is down a couple of TEs as both Adam Breneman of UMass and South Dakota State’s Dallas Goedert are out with minor injuries, with Western Kentucky’s Deon Yelder stepping in to replace them. At the same time, Western Michigan OT Chukwuma Okorafor was not able to make it to Mobile because of a minor injury and was replaced on the North roster by Maine OT Jamil Demby. Both Senior Bowl teams will be in full pads later today for the first of two full practice sessions. The North will be on the field from 1:30 PM ET to 3:30 this afternoon, while the South goes from 4 PM ET to 6 PM. Coverage again will be provided by the NFL Network.
