QB Mariota to visit Bucs … Interesting day in South Florida where Oregon QB Marcus Mariota will be in Tampa Bay where he hopes to convince the Buccaneers to take him with the #1 pick at the 2015 draft. Because it is an on-site visit, one of 30 each team is allowed to host prior to the draft, Mariota won’t be allowed to work out for Buccaneers’ officials, but he will go through a series of meetings. Tampa Bay is then expected to hold a private workout with Mariota back in Oregon later in April. The Buccaneers are widely considered to be leaning heavily toward taking Florida State QB Jameis Winston with this year’s top pick, but there’s no harm for the Buccaneers in kicking all the tires. Speaking of Winston, Peter King of Sports Illustrated is reporting that the former Seminoles star is not planning on actually attending the draft in Chicago next month, which is not necessarily unprecedented, but is somewhat unusual for a prospective #1 pick.
