MAC action

November 1, 2016

Bonus MACoverage … MAC conference games over the month of November are regularly played mid-week to give the conference some national exposure on ESPN. And both the conference and ESPN lucked out the way schedule works out as the series kicks off later this evening when #17 ranked Western Michigan, one of just 5 remaining unbeaten teams in D1A football plays at Ball State at 8 PM ET on ESPN2. Needless to say the Broncos are very much in the driver’s seat to grab the non-power 5 berth in the major bowls this January, especially after Boise State was upset by Wyoming this past weekend. WMU is also more than your average MAC team when it comes to pro prospects as the Broncos feature a number of decent NFL candidates including QB Zach Terrell (#11, 6-2, 205), who has risen up NFL draft boards in tossing 20 TDs against just a single interception to date this fall; junior RB Jarvion Franklin (#31, 5-11, 230); All-America WR Corey Davis (#84, 6-2, 215); and veteran G/T Taylor Moton (#72, 6-5, 320).
