LSU QB Daniels wins Heisman

December 9, 2023

LSU QB Daniels wins Heisman … Pretty much as expected, LSU QB Jayden Daniels was awarded this year’s Heisman Trophy at the annual ceremony in New York. Daniels edged out Washington QB Michael Penix for the award, with Oregon QB Bo Nix a little farther behind at #3 in the voting and Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison 4th. Daniels certainly had a Heisman worthy season as he hit on 72% of his passes for over 3.800 yards and 40 TDs, while he ran for another 1,100 yards and 10 scores. Of course, Daniels is also the 2nd LSU QB to win the award in the past 4 years as Joe Burrow also won in 2020 before being selected 1st overall in the 2021 draft by Cincinnati. While Daniels year in many ways is comparable to that of Burrow, NFL teams are still reportedly divided on where he should be selected this coming April. For those that have not seen it yet, Mel Kiper has a nice rundown on Daniels’ prospects at ESPN.
