LSU DE suspension lifted

September 28, 2016

LSU DE suspension lifted; Fournette still gimpy … After domestic abuse charges against LSU junior DE Davon Godchaux were lifted earlier this week, he has been re-instated to the team and is expected to play this weekend when the Tigers plays Missouri this weekend. Godchaux was arrested late last week on charges of false imprisonment, domestic abuse battery and child endangerment as the result of an incident with his girlfriend and mother of his daughter last weekend, but those charges were dropped when the DA decided not to proceed because ‘inconsistent statements by the victim and the physical evidence at the scene’. The 6-3, 295-pound Godchaux is considered to be a potential top 100 prospect for the 2017 draft, but clearly will have some explaining to do at pre-draft interviews. Meanwhile, star LSU RB Len Fournette, a possible top 5-10 prospect for this year’s draft, will be a game-time decision because of a recurring ankle injury when the Bayou Tigers play the Missou Tigers on Saturday. (For those that keep track of these things, the LSU Tigers will actually be playing other ‘Tigers’ for the second week in a row after facing Auburn’s Tigers last week!)
