Lions lose in SF; to pick 29th … For a long while this evening it looked like one of the NFL’s longest streaks of futility might just becoming to an end as Detroit, which last won an NFL championship 66 years ago, and is the only remaining NFC never to appear in a Super Bowl, led San Francisco 24-7 at the half, but alas it was not to be as the 49ers stormed back scoring 27 straight points to earn a 34-31 and a trip to another Super Bowl. As a result of their lose this evening, Detroit will have the 29th pick in the opening round of the 2024 draft. Meanwhile, Kansas City and San Francisco will have the 31st and 32nd picks with the Super Bowl winner getting the latter and the loser the former.
