Lions catch a break; Big Ben out Sunday … Detroit, the NFL’s last remaining winless team, hasn’t had many breaks through the first half of the campaign, but they may have caught one this weekend ahead of tomorrow’s game in Pittsburgh with news that Steelers’ QB Ben Roethlisberger will not be in uniform after he was placed on the Covid reserve list. Roethlisberger will be replaced by veteran back-up Mason Rudolph. And while the Steelers remain favorites, they won’t be as heavily favored as if Roethlisberger was still playing. Meanwhile, Houston, which would have had the 2nd pick overall if the 2022 draft were held this week, are off this week with their bye, while the other teams currently sitting on top 5 picks are all in relatively tough this weekend. The NY Jets, for example, who would pick 3rd, are hosting Buffalo, while #4 Jacksonville will be at resurgent Indianapolis, and Washington, with the 5th pick, will be home to Tampa Bay. Have a great day!
