Kiel hospitalized

Cincy QB Kiel hospitalized after head shot last night … Still waiting for a further update on the status of Cincinnati junior QB Gunner Kiel, #7 on the GBN ranking of the top prospects at the position for the 2016 draft, who was taken to hospital for observation after taking a shot to the head in the Bearcats’ loss in Memphis last evening. Kiel was giving himself up by sliding after a short when he was hit in the head by a Memphis defender going over the top of him; after the hit Kiel lay motionless on the turf for several minutes before being carted off the field, although team officials indicated that he was concious and could move all his extremities once he got to the locker room. The big question now for Kiel, the former recruit at both LSU and Indiana who also played briefly at Notre Dame, as he came into the Memphis game listed as a game-time decision after also being knocked out of the Bearcats’ game last weekend because of a hit to the head.
