Jets shake up draft adding three firsts in big deals … Normally most years there’s a lot of buzz around the NFL in the days leading up to the trade deadline, but then pretty much crickets on the day. This year was an exception, though, thanks in large part to the NY Jets who consummated two major deals, in the process acquiring three first round draft picks including one extra this year and two more in 2027. First, the Jets sent All-Pro CB Sauce Gardner to Indianapolis for the Colts 1st round picks in both 2026 and 2027 as well as veteran WR Adonai Mitchell, then shipped star DT Quinnen Williams to Dallas for a 1st round pick in 2027, a second this year and veteran DT Mazi Smith. In other deals today, Seattle acquired WR Rashid Shaheed from New Orleans for 4th and 5th round picks this year, while the Saints also acquired a 6th in 2027 from the LA Chargers for OT Trevor Penning and Jacksonville acquired WR Jakobi Meyers from Las Vegas for 4th and 6th rounders.
