Jets, Giants swap DE, picks … The two New York teams have completed their first trade in over 35 years, as the Jets have sent 5T DE Leonard Williams across the stadium to the Giants in exchange for a 3rd round pick in 2020, along with a fifth-round pick in 2021 that could escalate to a 4th rounder if the Giants are able to extend Williams’s contract this off-season. At the same time, the Jets will continue to pay roughly $4M of the $6 million left on his deal. Williams is in the final year of the deal he signed after the Jets drafted him with the sixth overall pick in 2015. Interesting deal from the Giants perspective in that they play a 3-4 D for all intents and purposes without any prototype 3-4 defensive linemen.
