Jets get vet DTs for picks; Broncos get rangy WR in pre-cut trades … The process of getting down to Tuesday’s 53-man opening day roster got started in earnest today with three trades. The NY Jets were involved in 2 of those deals acquiring veteran DTs Harrison Phillips from Minnesota and Jowon Briggs from Cleveland. In the Phillips deal, the Jets also acquired a 7th round pick from the Vikings who got 6th rounders in both 2026 and 2027. Along with Briggs, the Jets got 2026 7th rounder from the Browns in exchange for a 6th rounder in 2027. In the other trade, New Orleans acquired 6-5 2nd-year WR Devaughn Vele from Denver for a 4th rounder this coming April and a 7th round pick in 2027.
