Jets get Saints 3rd rounder for QB Bridgewater and late pick … The New York Jets have reportedly been shopping QB Teddy Bridgewater over the past few weeks and finally found a taker earlier when they sent Bridgewater to New Orleans for a 3rd round pick in 2019. To complete the deal, the Saints will also get a 6th round pick from the Jets. With the Saints, it appears that Bridgewater will slide into the primary backup role for incumbent starter Drew Brees. Meanwhile, the fact that the Jets moved Bridgewater fueled more speculation that they will go with rookie Sam Darnold, the 3rd player selected at the 2018 draft, as their starting QB when the regular season gets underway next week. And by adding another premium pick, there is also heightened speculation that the Jets want to acquire a quality edge rusher before the start of the season.
