Jags, Pats fire coaches; Giants stand pat … Both New England and Jacksonville didn’t wait long to replace their head coaches in the wake of disappointing seasons as the Patriots fired Jerod Mayo and the Jags released Doug Pederson just hours after the season ended. Mayo was let go after just one season and the expectation is that former Tennessee Mike Vrabel, who has long ties to to the Patriots’ organization, could very well end up there. On the other hand, in something of a surprise, the Giants have announced that both GM Joe Schoen and coach Brian Daboll will return after a disastrous 3-14 season in which the Giants lost a team-record 10-straight games. That’s not going to go over very well with the fan base in New York, but after cycling through 2 other GMs and 3 head coaches since 2017 Giants ownership appears to have decided that a little stability might be more beneficial than change for the sake of change. Time will tell.
