Jags-Bolts headline interesting week re draft order … There is a potentially interesting Sunday coming up when it comes to the early selection order for the 2021 day. The ‘feature’ draft game comes up when Jacksonville travels west to play the Chargers in LA in a late afternoon game. Coming into the week, the Jaguars were sitting on the 5th pick overall in the proverbial ‘if the draft were held this week’ selection order for 2021, while the Chargers were 8th. The Chargers pick, though, was a little deceiving. They are one of 7 one-win teams in the league, but get the 8th spot because they have had their bye and have played one game less than the other six. However, the Chargers have the weakest strength of schedule figure of the one-win teams and would actually have the 2nd pick if they were to lose their game in hand. At the same time, a couple of other one-win teams currently in the top 5 are home tomorrow in games that would appear to be at least winnable. Washington, which is sitting on the second pick overall, for example, is home to Dallas which comes to the national capitol without QB Dak Prescott who is out for the season with an ankle injury. Meanwhile, Atlanta, which sits 4th, will host up-and-down-Detroit. The NY Jets, the league’s only remaining winless team who currently control the #1 pick, will be home to division-leading Buffalo. Have a great Sunday everyone!
