It is Game Day!!! … Indeed, the NFL is finally back with the season’s first full weekend of games including some potential very tasty morsels including Pittsburgh at Buffalo, Cleveland at Kansas City and Green Bay in New Orleans. And while we still have 230 days until the 2022 draft – not to mention a full season of play – there are several games today that could potentially impact the early selection order for the upcoming draft. None more so than an AFC Match-up between Jacksonville, which chose former Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence with the first pick overall at this year’s draft, and Houston, one of the early favorites to have the #1 pick in 2022. The Texans, of course, will be without their young star QB Deshaun Watson who will not play today, or apparently all season, as Houston looks for a trade partner. The other really interesting game today with a draft bent is in Carolina where the Jets will unveil Zack Wilson, their new QB who was the 2nd player taken at this past spring’s draft, against the Panthers who will be lead by QB Sam Darnold, the Jets’ ‘old’ QB whom they traded to Carolina this off-season.
