Is Canes’ QB next to stay/transfer? … All indications are that Miami redshirt sophomore QB Tyler Van Dyke, who was once thought to be a likely first round pick this coming spring, is on the verge of joining the growing ranks of prominent QBs opting to return to school for the 2023 season. The big question in Miami, though, is whether Van Dyke stays with the Canes or opts to transfer as he could very well face a challenge for the starting job in Miami next fall. Meanwhile, Miami S Al Blades has confirmed that he will be transferring. Blades, part of the prominent Blades football family, was a big-time recruit for the Canes and played well at CB his first couple of seasons, but has been mostly a reserve since moving to safety last year. At the same, there are conflicting signals from Canes’ CB Tyrique Stevenson, a 4th-Year senior with second-day potential, who did participate in Miami’s Senior Day, but who says he is ’50-50′ on whether to enter this year’s draft or not.
On the other hand, no such drama from Mississippi State junior CB Emmanuel Forbes, another rising prospect at the position, who has confirmed that he will be foregoing his remaining eligibility and entering the upcoming draft; the 6-0, 180-pound Forbes, who had an SEC leading 6 picks this fall, is currently the 8th rated CB on the GBN positional ranking and 47th on the GBN Big Board.
