Irish run at pro day; Aggies don’t

March 27, 2025

Irish run at pro day; Aggies don’t … There were somewhat different storylines at the day’s two most prominent pro days as a number of Notre Dame prospects ran at their pro day, whereas the guys NFL types wanted to see at the Texas A&M workout didn’t. Unfortunately, though, for the Irish prospects that ran today, none really excelled. S Xavier Watts, one of the top 4-5 candidates at the position this year, was credited with a 4.56 40 clocking which would have been at the lower end of those at the position that ran in Indianapolis. At the same time, LB Jack Kiser ran in the  mid-4.6 range, while DE RJ Oben posted a relatively slow  4.90. Meanwhile, at Texas A&M, the Aggies that scouts were hoping to see run – DE Nic Scourton and DT Shemar Stewart  – after they passed on the field testing at the combine, but neither did in the end. At the same time, a couple of guys thought to be well down draft boards around the league may have at least earned second looks with athletic showings. CB Trikweze Bridges, a decent sized cover corner (6-2, 200) who was also reasonably productive for the Gators, turned some heads running the 40 in under 4.4 seconds, while LB RJ Moten, who on the other hand has never been that productive, posted a 4.48 40 clocking.
