Husky S Rapp runs poorly at UW Pro day

Husky S Rapp runs poorly at UW pro day … There were no official results posted, but it appears that Washington SS Taylor Rapp did not have a great day at the Huskies’ pro day on Monday. Rapp, who did not run at the combine, has been variously described as having run in the mid-4.7 range – Walter Football, for example, has him at 4.77 in their results summaries – which is not particularly good for a safety. Certainly, that’s not the kind of speed that’s going to get Rapp back into the first round range. Rapp, though, was a highly productive college player who is still one of the best pure tacklers in this year’s draft so he may also get some looks as a hybrid safety-LB type of player. Fellow Washington safety JoJo McIntosh, who was a major combine snub, ran a little bit better, with a reported time in the 4.65 range, but that too is not the kind of time that is going to move a safety up in the rankings. Meanwhile, a couple of other pro day outings by second tier prospects that could at least earn players a second look from pro scouts. Virginia Tech OT Yosuah Nijman, for example, reportedly ran in the 4.85 range at the Hokies’ pro day, while also posting 27 reps in the BP. At the same time, Mississippi TE Dawson Knox ran close to 4.5 at his pro day.
