TCU gets Husker transfer WR … Former Nebraska WR J.D. Spielman, the son of Minnesota G.M. Rick Spielman, has announced that he has transferred to Texas Christian. Spielman isn’t technically eligible for a grad transfer, but he has reportedly received a special waiver from the NCAA and will be able to play immediately. Spielman is only 5-9, 180, but has been Nebraska’s most consistent receiver over the past three years with 170 career receptions for over 2,500 yards and 15 TDs. Spielman left the Nebraska program earlier this year to deal with what he has acknowledged were some mental health issues. Spielman is considered to be a solid 3rd day prospect for the upcoming draft.
