Heels OG off to pros; QB to star game

Heels OG off to pros; QB to star game … There were a couple of bits of news out of North Carolina over the past 24 hours. OG Josh Ezeudu, for example, announced that he will be entering the 2022 draft. He’s a 6-4, 325-pound 4th year junior who figures to be a mid-to-late third-day pick. Meanwhile, QB Sam Howell has confirmed that he has accepted an invitation to participate in next month’s Senior Bowl in Mobile. He’s eligible as a 4th year junior who has graduated. Howell joins an already impressive QB roster at the Senior Bowl which also includes Pitt’s Kenny Pickett, Malik Willis of Liberty, Cincinnati’s Desmond Ridder, Carson Strong of Nevada and Western Kentucky’s Bailey Zappe. What that means, assuming everyone who has committed actually shows up in Mobile, is that other than Matt Corral of Mississippi, all the QBs with first-round potential for the 2022 draft will be in Mobile next month. And speaking of Corral, who suffered what looked like a potentially serious leg injury in Saturday’s Sugar Bowl, we’re now at Wednesday and there has been no announcement, or even rumors, about the extent of the injury, which suggests that maybe it is not that serious as we would have likely heard something by now if it was. We’ll stay on it though.
