Guess who’s coming to dinner! Steelers host Bama QB … Prior to today’s Alabama pro day, officials from Pittsburgh including general manager Omar Khan, head coach Mike Tomlin, and QB coach Tom Arth, took QB Jalen Milroe out to dinner last evening. The Steelers are expected to eventually sign veteran Aaron Rodgers – someday whenever he finally gets around to making a decision – for the upcoming season, but he’s 41 and is hardly the future for the Steelers. Of curse, the Steelers, who have the 21st pick in this year’s opening round, aren’t going to be anywhere near close enough to select one of this year’s top QB prospects meaning if they want to bring in a young arm this year it will have to be one of the second tier prospects. The fact that the Steelers are meeting with Milroe in force suggests that he is indeed at least in that conversation likely along with others like Mississippi’s Jaxson Dart, Quinn Ewers of Texas, and Tyler Shough of Louisville, as busy NFL execs don’t usually waste their time visiting with players they don’t already have a pretty good grade on, although we should note several observers have wondered that meeting with Milroe could also be a bit of a ploy to put a little a pressure on Rodgers. Stay tuned!
