Guess who’s coming to dinner! … With the rest of the NFL assuming at this point that USC QB Caleb Williams to Chicago with the first pick at this month’s draft is pretty much a done deal, the focus has shifted to what Washington and New England will do with the 2nd and 3rd picks respectively. And while there is some speculation that the Patriots could still trade out of the pick, just about everybody around the league now figures it will be LSU’s Jayden Daniels and North Carolina’s Drake Maye going to the Commanders and Patriots in some order on the 25th. To that end, the Patriots will have Maye for one of their ’30’ visits tomorrow, while Daniels will be in their building on Monday. Meanwhile, there has been a Bo Nix siting. Nix, of course, is the ‘other’ top 6 QB this year but the nobody has been talking of late, but he’ll be in Las Vegas to visit with Raiders tomorrow; that’s after the Raiders had Washington’s Michael Penix in for a visit today, while Penix was in Denver on Tuesday visiting with the Broncos. The big question of course then becomes would the Broncos or Raiders, who have the 12th and 13th picks respectively this year, select either Penix or Nix at those spots if they weren’t able to work out a trade to get up into the top 5 picks to select one of the top 4 QBs.
