Grandpa Archie talks grandson Arch’s draft … There has been a bit of buzz this week about comments by Archie Manning indicating that grandson Arch Manning, the consensus favorite to be #1 pick overall at next April’s draft, wouldn’t be entering the 2026 draft. On further review, though, it doesn’t appear to be quite so definitive. Archie, in fact, actually said that he hasn’t actually talked with Arch about the issue, but is predicting that his grandson will ultimately be back at Texas next fall. As we have suggested in recent weeks that would appear to be the most likely outcome as the Mannings have always completed their eligibility. However, it is still possible that if a) Arch was in fact in line to be the top pick next April and b) had a chance to go to a team like his home-town New Orleans Saints, or perhaps the NY Giants, that he did really want to play for then he might still be tempted to take advantage of the situation.
