Good day so far for 2020 picks … One of the fears entering the 2020 season was the fact that because of training camp limitations it might be harder for late round picks this past April to earn a roster spot. At this hour, roughly half the NFL’s 32 teams have announced their opening day 53-man rosters and while we’ll still have to collate all the numbers, the early indications are that most 2020 picks are in fact making their respective teams. Indeed, with roughly half the field accounted for, no team has released more than one pick and close to half of those reporting to date haven’t released any. A couple of teams that did release picks in the last few minutes include Indianapolis, which released DT Robert Windsor, a 6th rounder this year, and the NY Giants who axed DB Chris Williamson, the third of their 4 7th round picks this past April. Meanwhile, Baltimore kept all of its draft picks, but for the first time in 16 years did not retain any undrafted rookies.
