Trio of underclassmen head to NFL … With the deadline for underclassmen to file paperwork with the NFL in order to be eligible for the 2015 draft fast approaching, three more names have been added to the list of those entering the draft. Pretty much as expected, Florida State junior DT Eddie Goldman, a first-round prospect for the upcoming draft, has announced that he will be entering this years darft where he has top 20-25 potential. Meanwhile, a pair of promising sophomores have also reportedly thrown their hats into the draft ring including Central Florida CB Jacoby Glenn and Arkansas DT Darius Philon. In fact, UCF’s Glenn has a chance to be one of the first corners off the board this coming spring after the All-American finished the regular season tied for nationally with 7 interceptions, while he knocked down another 11. Glenn is also the second UCF underclassmen to declare for the draft this week joining junior WR Breshad Perriman among those declaring for early entry to the 2015 draft. Philon, on the other hand, is more a late second or early third day prospect, although the 6-2, 285-pounder does have some upfield ability after posting 4.5 sacks and 7 other tackles for loss last season.
Buckeye QB denies pro interest … Ohio State sophomore QB Cardale Jones says he is not ready for the NFL and will not be entering the upcoming draft. As reported earlier today, there had been some speculation that Jones might opt to enter this year’s draft despite starting only three games I his career after he led the Buckeyes on their improbable run to the first national championship in the playoff era. However, Jones has not ruled out the possibility of a transfer prior to the start of next season, although he would have to sit out a year if he did move on to another FBS program.
