Giants trade Eli – the other one to Saints – for picks … The struggling NY Giants got rid of one of their problem children when they traded CB Eli Apple to New Orleans for a 4th round pick in 2019 and a 7th rounder in 2020. Apple was the Giants’ #1 pick three years ago, but after a promising rookie season he went through a mess of personal issues last year. And while his play picked up this year, the final straw for the Giants may have come in last night’s loss in Atlanta when Apple was called for a needless hold that allowed the Falcons a first down on a third and long from their 2-yard line.
