Giants move on from QB Jones; to start DeVito … In what was this week’s worst kept NFL secret, the 2-8 NY Giants, who would have the 4th or 5th pick were the draft held this week, will bench starting QB Daniel Jones and replace him with Tommy DeVito. In fact, its probably the last anyone will see of Jones in a Giants uniform as he has a big cap hit guaranteed if he’s injured in his contract which otherwise has no other guaranteed money. DeVito, who was an undrafted rookie last year, actually gave the Giants a bit of a spark last season when he was forced into action because of injuries. He’ll start ahead of veteran Drew Lock, who has been the nominal back-up this fall, but was even worse than Jones in the one brief appearance he made earlier this fall. All this is to say, the Giants will almost assuredly be heavy into QBs both at the 2025 draft and in pos-season free agency.
