Giants indicate willingness to trade down from 4th pick … The Giants became the second team with a top 5 pick to go public indicating a willingness to trade down in the opening round of the 2020 draft. G.M. Dave Gettleman said today at his combine presser when asked whether the Giants would consider moving down: “”Absolutely we’re open for business. Whatever we do is going to be in our best interest.” Gettleman, though, also seemed to indicate that he didn’t anticipate moving down all that far for fear of losing out on one of this year’s elite prospects. Translated, it may have been a message to teams like the LA Chargers and/or Carolina, which pick 6th and 7th respectively, that they might give him a call if they were thinking of leapfrogging Miami in the 5th slot to get a QB such as Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa. The Giants join Detroit, which has the 3rd pick overall, in indicating that they’d be interested in trading out of the top 5 for the right package of picks. Stay tuned!
