Giants hire x-Giant, Panther exec Gettleman as new G.M. … The New York Giants have hired Dave Gettleman as the team’s new G.M. replacing Jerry Reese who was fired earlier this month. Gettleman was Carolina G.M. the past 4 years before he was surprisingly fired over the summer. Prior to that Gettleman spent 15 years with the Giants primarily as director of pro personnel. First up for Gettleman will be to find a new head coach for the Giants. Then it will be onto the draft where the Giants are going to have either the 2nd or 3rd pick overall depending on results from this coming weekend.
