Giants get late Vikes pick for vet C Jones … The New York Giants have acquired a 7th round pick at the 2019 draft after trading veteran back-up C Brett Jones to Minnesota. Jones, a former lineman of the year in the CFL, started 13 games for the Giants last year, but was playing behind Jon Halapio, who has started all three preseason games for the team. It also doesn’t hurt the Giants that they’ll save almost $3M against the cap by moving Jones. Meanwhile, the Vikings have been looking for some depth on the their interior OL with C Pat Elflein is still not practicing after undergoing off-season surgeries on his ankle and shoulders, while OG Nick Easton is already on IR and out for the year.
