Giants, Browns swap vets, picks

Giants, Browns swap vets, picks … The Giants and Cleveland have agreed on a trade in principal in which the Browns will get DE Olivier Vernon and a 4th round pick, the 132nd overall, from the Giants in return for veteran OG Kevin Zeitler and a 5th round pick, the 155th overall. The Giants also get a modest savings to their salary cap for this year. Interesting deal for both when it comes how it might impact their 2019 draft plans. The Giants, who were already going into the draft looking to upgrade one of the NFL’s least productive pass rushes with an early pick, almost assuredly will be doing so now that they have moved their one proven edge rusher. Meanwhile, the Browns were also thought to be in the market for help along their defensive front, but after acquiring Vernon, who can be a solid pass rusher when healthy, may look for some help for QB Baker Mayfield either in a LT or WR.
