Gator QB dumps nickname

Gator QB dumps nickname … Florida QB Anthony Richardson has announced that he will no longer use the nickname AR-15 due to its being associated with the weapon used in so many recent mass shootings across the U.S. Richardson, whose initials are A. R. and who does wear #15 with the Gators, also indicated that he will be rebranding a line of clothing line that was recently launched under that name. NFL scouts aren’t likely to read a whole lot into the move, but it does tend to indicate a certain level of maturity on Richardson’s part. In fact, Richardson is emerging as something of an interesting prospect for 2023 despite the fact he has barely played to date. Richardson had only 66 pass attempts through his first two years with the Gators, and has almost as many picks (6) as TD passes (7), but he’s a big guy (6-4, 235) with elite athleticism and arm strength. Indeed, he may have the strongest arm of any QB in the upcoming draft class.
