FSU’s Fiske leads DT 40 times … The first runs at this year’s combine are in the books as the DTs got things underway this afternoon with Florida State’s Braden Fiske leading the way. Fiske posted a solid unofficial 40 clocking of 4.78 seconds, while Mehki Wingo of LSU had a 4.86. Byron Murphy of Texas also impressed with a 4.88 time, while Duke Orhororo of Clemson posted a 4.90 clocking. Wingo also had the fastest 10-yard split at 1.64, while Orhororo (1.67), Fiske (1.68), Murphy (1.67) and Jaden Crumedy of Mississippi State (1.69) were also under 1.70. Here are the unofficial 40 times for the DTs. It will also be interesting to see what NFL teams make of T’Vondre Sweat’s 5.27 time which tied for last (with McKinnley Jackson) but that may be considered a not half bad clocking for a 366-pounder whose roll it will be to clog up the middle of the defensive front.
