Chiefs, ‘Hawks take early lead on ’17 comp picks … There are obviously still many quality free agents still yet to be signed, but after the first week of free agency, Kansas City and Seattle have the early lead on acquiring compensatory picks at the 2017 draft. According to our unofficial, both the Chiefs and Seahawks are minus-4 in terms of signing free agents. KC has lost 5 players to date while signing just only former Cleveland OT Mitch Schwartz. Meanwhile, Seattle has seen four former Seahawks, including OLB Bruce Irvin who signed with Oakland, move to other teams last week, while Seattle is yet to sign anybody else’s free agents. At the same time, four other teams – Buffalo, Cleveland, Cincinnati and New Orleans – are currently down a net of three free agents, while Denver, Indianapolis and the LA Rams are each down a net of two free agents. For the record, here’s our unofficial list of free agent changes so far this year. And given that this table is unofficial we’d appreciate a head’s up if we missed anybody…ed
