Four more tags fly; top pick impacted … With the deadline for team’s to designate franchise and transition players passing at the top of the hour, at least three more teams have used a franchise tag as Green Bay designated star WR Davante Adams, Tampa Bay tagged WR Chris Godwin, and Jacksonville tagged LT Cam Robinson. In fact, its the second year in a row that both Godwin and Robinson have been franchised. The fact that Jacksonville opted to tag Robinson could have a major impact on the 2022 draft as there had been growing speculation that the Jags would let Robinson walk and use the #1 pick overall on a replacement, either Evan Neal of Alabama or North Carolina State’s Ickey Ekwonu. However, the fact that they tagged Robinson may indicate that they will use the top pick on another position/player such as Michigan DE Aidan Hutchinson if they don’t trade the pick.
