Foles to Jags all but done deal

March 11, 2019

QB Foles to Jags all but done deal … Maybe the worst kept secret around the NFL was that free agent QB nick Foles, who led Philadelphia to the 2017 Super Bowl title, would be signing with Jacksonville once the new NFL year starts. There is still almost 48 hours before the deal can be finally finalized, but sources around the league are confirming that Foles has indeed on a 4-year contract with the Jaguars. And needless to say with Foles in the fold, the Jaguars will not be looking for a QB with their top pick, #7 overall, at the upcoming draft, although they could still look to add some depth at the position with a later round selection. With teams now free to talk with free agents prior to the start of the new football year on Wednesday, several deals have been announced that could impact their team’s early picks at the upcoming draft. For example, Detroit has signed former New England DE Trey Flowers to a free agent contract. Edge rusher had been considered to be one of the Lions biggest needs heading into the upcoming draft. Meanwhile, Oakland signed LT Trent Brown away from New England, while Washington lured former Giants SS Landon Collins away from a division rival. Elsewhere, Philadelphia resigned LT Jason Peters. All these deals will become official when the new NFL year starts at 4 PM ET on Wednesday.
