Initial Top 50+ 2025 Big Board posted … With the start of the upcoming college football season now essentially a month away, we have posted our initial Big Board ranking of the Top 50+ prospects for the 2025 draft. A couple of thoughts that emerged along the way. On the one hand, the very top of the board is pretty talented; maybe almost as good as last years. Indeed, there are a couple of really good QB prospects in Carson Beck of Georgia and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders; a couple of outstanding receivers in Luther Burden of Missouri and Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillen; OTs Will Campbell of LSU and Kelvin Banks of Texas; ERs James Pearce of Tennessee and Georgia’s Mykel Thompson; and corners Will Johnson of Michigan and Colorado’s Travis Hunter. The difference perhaps this year, though, is whereas the top prospects last year were pretty much established – think QB Caleb Williams and WR Marvin Harrison – by this time of the year, there’s still much sorting out to do with the 2025 class. The other big difference appears to be that while the 2024 draft was heavy – very heavy – on offensive talent, the upcoming crop has more of a defensive tinge. In particular, a pretty good case can be made that the best positions for the 2025 draft are the DEs, DTs and CBs. as we said, though, there is still much sorting out to do in the next 9 months. Stay tuned.
