Falcons to look defence at combine, draft

Falcons to look defence at combine, draft … One team that will almost assuredly be paying close attention when the defensive linemen and LBs work out at the scouting combine in Indianapolis tomorrow is Atlanta. In fact, in something I am not sure we have ever seen before at the combine, the Falcons brought their defensive assistants to Indianapolis for the week, but left the offensive guys at home. At the same time, all 45 of the prospects the Falcons have opted to have formal interviews with this week are defensive players.

In another development which may not have quite the tea leave component as Atlanta’s actions, Tennessee has given OLB Harold Landry permission to seek a trade. Of course, the Titans have the #1 pick in this year’s draft and, if they don’t opt to take a QB, the consensus top non-QB prospect is edge rushing OLB Abdul Carter from Penn State. Just saying!
