ESPN posts pre-pre-season mock … For those that have not seen it yet, ESPN has a mock 2025 draft up this week. And as we have noted in the past we would almost never ever say a mock draft was ‘too early’. What is too early is getting overly excited or upset a particular pick by a particular team. Its also probably just a wee bit early to start projecting trades and this one has a couple with both the Giants and Vegas Raiders trading up to take QBs (Joe Beck of Georgia and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders respectively) with the 1st and 2nd picks overall. In fact, this mock has 5 QBs going in the 1st round with Quinn Ewers of Texas going 10th overall, Connor Weigman of Texas A&M 18th and Notre Dame’s Riley Leonard 20th which is kind of interesting. For the most part, though, there aren’t a lot of surprises in this mock. We did note, though, that they have several OTs who have until recently not been widely considered to be first-round candidates, including Jonah Savaiinaea of Arizona, NC State’s Andrew Belton, and Oregon’s Ajani Cornelius, going in the latter part of the opening round. Its also kind of interesting in that all three are players that could ultimately kick inside to OG at the next level.
