Eagles get WR Metchie from Texans for vet TE; pick swap … Philadelphia has reportedly acquired veteran WR Jon Metchie from Houston in exchange for veteran TE Harrison Btryant and a 5th round pick in 2026, while the Eagles will get a 6th rounder from the Texans. In fact, the teams are actually simply returning the picks they swapped in March when the Eagles traded safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson to the Texans for offensive lineman Kenyon Green. Metchie is a 4th year possession receiver from Canada who did not play his rookie season as he recovered from a serious non-football health issue. Of note, he’s a former Alabama teammate of Devonta Smith, one of the Eagles top two receivers. Bryant is a 6th year TE who has 98 career receptions, although he only had 9 last fall with Las Vegas.
