Eagles, Colts add to A drafts with top UDFA signings … You won’t get much argument from NFL watchers that Philadelphia and Indianapolis had the two best drafts at last weekend’s draft. And both added to their impressive hauls earlier today when they each signed one of this year’s top undrafted free agents. Philadelphia, for example, signed former Alabama CB Eli Ricks, the #2 player on the GBN list of undrafted free agents, while the Colts also signed a former ‘Bama player as they came to terms with OG Emil Ekiyor, who was 5th on the list. Interesting that the Eagles signed Ricks – they also signed former LSU CB Mekhi Garner – meaning that after taking Georgia CB Kelee Ringo early last Saturday to complete their trio of star former UGA defensive stars, they also added CBs from two of Georgia’s biggest SEC rivals. For the record, with today’s signing announcements, 18 teams have confirmed at least some of their undrafted free agents signings and we expect more to come over the weekend and into early next week as teams wrap up their rookie mini-camps.
