Eagles, 49ers, Rams projected to lead comp pick haul … The NFL won’t be announcing the actual compensatory picks for the 2024 draft until early in March, but several sources have gotten pretty accurate at predicting which teams will get extra picks each year. One of those is Over The Cap which is projecting that Philadelphia, San Francisco and the LA Rams will each get 4 comp picks for this April’s draft because of net free agent losses last year. The Eagles, for example, are projected to get a 3rd round comp pick along with three more in the 5th round, while the 49ers are projected to get single comp picks in the 3rd and 5th rounds as well as two more in the 6th. For their part, the Rams are projected to get one extra pick in the 5th round and three in the 6th. Meanwhile, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Green Bay and the NY Jets are projected to each get three comp picks, while Dallas and Cincinnati are forecast to get two apiece with Buffalo, Baltimore, Kansas City and the LA Chargers getting one each. Of note, though, Buffalo and Jacksonville are projected to get an extra pick in the 3rd round, while Baltimore has the only 4th round comp pick. Also note that San Francisco’s total does not include the minority hiring comp pick the 49ers were awarded last year meaning the 49ers actually could have as many as 5 total comp picks this coming April.
