Ducks’ QB Herbert goes out winner; draft grade still fuzzy … No doubt one of the most polarizing players at the 2020 draft is going to be Oregon QB Justin Herbert who wrapped up his college career yesterday leading his Ducks’ to a 28-27 win over Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. Herbert was named the game’s MVP after he ran for three scores, but in the end probably didn’t get the resounding performance he was hoping for to squelch some of the questions surrounding his game. Herbert did complete 14 of 20 passes against the good Badgers’ defense, but for only 138 yards with a pick, while he also made a couple of head-scratching decisions in the pocket. At the same time, though, it was pretty apparent that the kid has an absolute gun for an arm and can throw beebees into some very tight spaces. Now it just becomes a question of how early in the draft some team rolls the dice on the physical tools hoping to be able to coach up some of the rough patches in his game. Stay tuned!
