Draft schedule

April 23, 2020

Clock ticking on draft … There has reportedly been a lot of chatter so far today around the NFL, but with just over fours to go until the first picks start coming off the board nothing has changed. Which gives us a minute to review some of the basics. The opening round of the draft gets underway at 8 PM ET later this evening, while rounds 2-3 go tomorrow starting at 7 PM ET, with things to wrap up on Saturday starting at Noon ET. ESPN and the NFL Network will be sharing coverage all weekend, while ABC will have their own coverage tonight and tomorrow night. Teams will have ten minutes to make their picks tonight; they’ll then have up to 7 minutes on the clock for the 2nd and 3rd rounds and 5 minutes for rounds 4 through 6. One small change for this year is that teams will only have 4 minutes to make their selections in the 7th round. The clock will stop if any team losses connection with the NFL while they are making their pick. Needless to say we’ll be following on from the first to last picks and beyond. Pigskin Paul Guillemette will be posting his thoughts on Twitter all weekend as the picks come of the board, while I’ll be joining Tom Pipines and John Dodds on their Podcast for the full evening tonight. Meanwhile, Larry Parker will be in the shop keeping the GBN Big Board updated as the picks are made.
