Draft analyst McShay out at ESPN … In something of a surprise, veteran ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay was one of almost two dozen prominent staffers who were essentially fired earlier today in a major cost-cutting exercise by the network. McShay, who has been with ESPN since 2006, had appeared to be the heir apparent to Mel Kiper as the network’s lead draft analyst, but needless to say that is not happening now. And for now, there is nothing on where McShay might land. Meanwhile, other NFL analysts who got the axe today include Steve Young, Keyshawn Johnson, Matt Hasselbeck and Suzy Kolber.
