Dolphins move on at GM

January 3, 2016

Dolphins, G.M. ‘part ways’ … The end of the NFL regular schedule usually brings ‘Black Monday’ in which teams quickly move on from losing coaches and front-office personnel. Miami got a jump on the process when it was announced yesterday that the team and G.M. Dennis Hickey had agreed to ‘part ways.’ Hickey had barely been in the job for two years, but had had his responsibilities dramatically reduced last year when the team hired Mike Tannebaum as VP of Football Operations. As noted, though, the Dolphins will not be the only team making major personnel moves in the next few days. Cleveland, which likely will end up with one of the first two picks at the 2016 draft, for example, is expected to fire G.M. Ray Farmer and head coach Mike Pettine. Stay tuned.
