Defensive positional rankings updated … The GBN defensive positional rankings have been updated (see the drop down menu above.) The biggest changes, and they are pretty significant, are at CB where there appears to have been almost a sea change with an almost entirely new top 3 at the position. In particular, Alabama’s Terrion Arnold appears to have emerged as something of a consensus #1 CB followed by Western Michigan’s Quinyon Mitchell and Nate Wiggins of Clemson. It remains to be seen though how early the three go with Arnold now apparently sitting in the middle of the first round with the other two in the low 20s. At the same time, the one CB who appears to have fallen noticeably is Cooper DeJean of Iowa, although that may be the largely the result of the fact that he is currently injured. There is also a noteworthy shift among the DE/ERs where it appears that UCLA’s Laiatu Latu has dropped from the early to late teens in part because of a significant injury history, in part because he has relatively short arms for a potential elite edge rusher (just 32.5-inches), and in part because he’s just not a real physical player.
