DE Crosby remains non-committal on Raiders future … While the focus on the NFL today is on this evening’s Super Bowl, there has been something of an on-going drama in Las Vegas over the future of star Raiders’ DE Maxx Crosby with the team. There were, for example, reports earlier in the week that Crosby wanted to be traded. And while he hasn’t necessarily said so himself, at least publicly, he also hasn’t denied those reports. In fact, in an interview late last week Crosby referred to the reports as ‘noise’ to him while wearing Raiders gear. He also said he’s more than happy living in Vegas which he now sees as home for his family. At the same time, he was non-committal when asked about his future with the Raiders. Crosby was known to be unhappy when the Raiders sat him out the team’s final couple of games this fall, ostensibly for health reasons, but against his wishes. More to the point, Crosby is reportedly asking himself whether he wants to go thru yet another rebuilding phase when he’s already in his 8th season. And in the end the Raiders may actually want to try and move Crosby themselves as he is likely too far along in his career to likely be part of any revival in Vegas which is going to take some time and all indications that if he’ll fetch a nice return of draft picks if he is shopped.
