That’s a wrap … The opening round of the 2025 draft came to a close just a few minutes ago when the Kansas City Chiefs selected Ohio State OT Josh Simmons with the 32nd and final pick of the night. However, there won’t be much rest for NFL personnel people as teams will be burning the midnight oil re-stacking their boards and resetting priorities prior to the start of the second round, which gets underway at 7 PM ET Friday evening with Cleveland on the clock with the 33nd pick overall;in fact, the Browns have 2 of the first 4 picks in the round after acquiring the 36th pick from Jacksonville in that big trade to get the opening round started. However, while the Browns will be busy early on Friday, the busiest team on the second night, at least barring further trades, looks to be Houston which has 5 picks thru the 2nd and 3rd rounds, while Cleveland and Seattle have 4 each. On the other hand, Atlanta, Minnesota, Pittsburgh and the NY Giants currently have just one pick each on Friday evening. Here is the updated selection order for the 2025 draft, as well as the current picks by team file.
And there are still a lot of really talented prospects on the board. Of course, the story of the 1st round may have been that Shedeur Sanders was not selected at all; as a result, he’ll be available on Friday along with fellow QB s Jalen Milroe, Tyler Shough, Quinn Ewers, Kyle McCord, Dillon Gabriel, and Will Howard; RBs Tre’veyon Hendesron, Quinshon Judkins, Kaleb Johnson, Dylan Sampson, LeQuint Allen and Cam Skattebo; WRs Luther Burden, Savion Williams, Kyle Williams and Jack Bech; TEs Mason Taylor and Elijah Arroyo; OTs Aireontay Ersery, and Andrew Belton; OG Jonah Savaiinea; Cs Jacob Wilson and Jonah Monheim; DEs Mike Green, Donovan Ezeirauku, Nic Scourton, Landon Jackson, and Jack Sawyer; DTs Darius Alexander and Josh Framer; LBs Carson Schwesinger, Demetrius Knight, Danny Stutsman and Barrett Carter; CBs Trey Amos, Az Thomas, Shavon Revel, Ben Morrison, Darien Porter, Quincy Riley, and Jacob Parrish; and safeties Nick Emmanwori, Kevin Winston, Xavier Watts and Andrew Mukuba.
